Premier League TV Deal

Heard someone say £100m ball park. Dont know if that is the maximum, minimum, or Sterling's agent renewed contract demands from FSG.

Was probably the latter though.

Thanks , was looking at last year's accounts to see how much we are getting now. And noticed the sponsorship revenue is terrible. Hopefully the first thing bill uses the extra cash for is a new commercial team.

about 3 tv deals ago I read that it was worth £37 for every seat at every game for the duration of the deal, it was saying that there was no longer a need to charge high prices as gate money wasn't really of consequence.

Wonder what this new 1 is worth per seat ?

For Everton:
Requiement to move to new stadium reduces
Requirement to improve commercial activities reduces
Requirement to finish as high as possible increases as prize money gap increases
Although I thought the idea of the Fair Play thing was that you couldn't use all of the TV money on transfers and wages unless you had offsetting commercial expenses or revenue.

Therefore it might make the concept of a new stadium relatively cheaper (versus our income) and more commercially viable (since it would mean that there would be a lot more capital and ongoing costs to fiddle about with in the books)?

No idea, but as you say, in the scheme of things, matchday revenue is pretty much a second thought at some clubs now.

FFP.

@MoutsGoat

WE have no excuse for not being able to afford to build a new stadium.

premier league rules mean that this increase cannot be entirely spent on player wages.

clubs are restricted to non-tv revenues above a limit per season.

FFP then means they can spend what they like on 'infrastructure'

i.e. stadia. Revenue generators.

NO MORE EXCUSES.

Having no transfer funds really won't wash any more. The money each club will receive is staggering.

Wages is the limitation.

There is no excuse for Everton to be playing in a sub standard (facilities or capacity) stadium.

Full stop.

Not with the money the club has access to now.

Be just our luck that Sky go bust then.

Player wages to go up
Player transfer values to go up
Champions League qualification less important in future
Europa League even less relevent than now, other than gaining experience for CL

For Everton:
Requiement to move to new stadium reduces
Requirement to improve commercial activities reduces
Requirement to finish as high as possible increases as prize money gap increases

Overall:
Great news for established top clubs
More performance pressure on middle tier
Chances of new clubs into Premiership succeeding reduces significantly.

Just more of the same really.

No mate. Premier League rules as they stand mean that anything over £4 million per year increase in club wages - has to be funded by non-TV money.

Or they are in breach of Premier League rules.

This means money is being funnelled to:

a. Pay off debt.

b. Increase infrastructure (i.e. benefit society).

Any attempt to remove the wage rules could be thrown out in court. Because such restrictions are allowed on competition grounds - in order to benefit society at large.

Thats a fundamental principle of EU law.

You're also wrong about the stadium. Our requirement INCREASES urgently to increase capacity/revenue

Is it worth pointing out that we're talking about money from a 2016-2019 TV contract, not yet signed, that will begin to deliver money in 2017?

If nothing now is happening within the NEXT TWO MONTHS on Everton's stadium

Bill Kenwright MUST GO.

As frankly with a deal like this we can fund a stadium easily.

@davek

Kenwright should be getting people in tomorrow on the stadium.

There is no excuses with the finance we have available going forward. Absolutely NO EXCUSE.

Kenwright has three months in my view to get things moving - publicly or he MUST GO.

The club can take a bridging loan in advance to use that on the stadium front.

Its guaranteed future income.
