Needs more than one season for a trend to be seen, but it is quite noticeable how much of a closed shop so many of the leagues around Europe are now. Juventus, Bayern and PSG are almost guaranteed to win their respective leagues, and whilst Barca don't have quite such an easy ride, they still nonetheless win more often than not in recent years. I suspect that general lack of domestic competition does them no good when it comes to competitive games in Europe.

....these things tend to be cyclical. The great teams have a shelf life, the difficult job is to keep refreshing them as Ferguson did for so many years at United

I think this year's good showing by English clubs is more of a fluke than the start of a period of domination.
Looking at the league form of Tottenham, how on earth have they reached the CL final? Are they really that good? They only just scraped through the group stages! (As did the rs).
Arsenal have hardly performed brilliantly in any competition and they just can't play away from home. How are they within 90 minutes of a final?
You could almost say the same about Chelsea.
I'm happy to eat my words if we have the same scenario next season but I just don't see it happening.
This.
Not quite a fluke but not far off...and 2 haven't actually got there yet

How does that Uefa coefficient thing work? If we do have a period of domination coming, could we see more than 7 slots in the future?

No chance, we allready have more then most other countries, they allready chanaged the rules once to stop 5 EPL teams playing in the champions league

I think so. Watching the two semis, I've realized how much fitter PL players are than players from Europe.

I think it follows where the good managers are. When the prem had Pellegrini, Rodgers, Wenger (latter period) and Moyes at the CL clubs then we were poor in the competition.

Guardiola Klopp Pochettino Mourinho Conte Emery etc. Are some of the best managers in the world and have been in the prem the last few seasons. It’s no wonder that they’ve spent money better and attracted better players. They’re chasing each other upwards now rather than previous seasons where an arms race didn’t exist to win the title.

Teams across Europe aside from the Madrid clubs need to invest in top managers rather than just players. Valverde Allegri Tuchel Kovac etc. have built reputations on winning in one or two team leagues. I don’t think they’re good coaches though as they’re barely challenged domestically and are then ran over in Europe by premier league teams.

If I was a director at PSG, Barca Bayern or Juve I’d be on the phone to Conte or Mourinho begging them to manage them and giving hem whatever they wanted. Simply getting some bloke in a suit to keep Messi or Ronaldo happy isn’t enough anymore to beat the prem teams.

Now that 4 leagues get 4 spots each, the coefficient really doesn’t matter anymore. It was only ever in danger for England when only 3 leagues got 4 places and Italy had an unreal couple years in Europe. The Premier League will never ever fall behind Ligue 1 in the coefficient.

Fair play to all of the English clubs in reaching their respective finals but, with the obvious exception of the rs, have any of them been world class this season?
Spurs- inconsistent in 2019 and blew any chance of the league months ago.
Chelsea- fans have moaned like hell practically all season about various things. They were crap at Goodison.
Arsenal- fans whinge more than ours do, they hardly ever play away from home and they were League One standard at Goodison.
If these three can do it, then so can we!

Too early to say, if Hazard goes and Chelsea are banned from signing anyone then you would imagine it will be difficult for them to be there next season + the European team Hazard goes to will improve. Juventus will have Ramsey so that should add a bit of something to them. Ajax with another year's experience will improve again. If Barca or Real Madrid want to strip away the best players in this league they can, so we have to wait and see what the squads look like in September.

With money floating around in the PL the top 4 should be there or thereabouts.
