Shocking.
The most unenjoyable (is that even a word?) football I have ever had the misfortune to watch.
It is absolutely nothing without the fans. Zero. Match going football fans should now realise just
how important they are and kick back against rip off ticket prices and silly kick off times.
We won't of course as rival football fans very rarely work as a collective.
We just need to boycott one televised game with a ridiculous kick off time and SKY and the PL
would have no choice but to listen and do something about it. It's criminal that this opportunity
will not be taken to try and at least begin to reclaim the game we love.

Spot on mate, clubs and sky have taken the fans for granted for far too long.
If any good is to come out of the last few weeks it has been to show that without the fans the game is nothing. If it was in empty stadiums after the virus I for one would stop watching.
The fans need to pull together and not accept without question everything that is thrown at them.

As good as it could have been. Highlights the importance of Fans which is great for the long term interest of the game, but the reality is this could be the new normal for two or three more years and we need to get used to it.

If you of the opinion, it's pointless without fans in the ground, I feel your pain, but Football needs to continue & in fairness to the PL, in awful circumstances they did as well as any could have expected.

I went for 2. An extended set of keep fit sessions for the lads to try and impress Ancelotti. It wasn't really worth the effort, but I suppose if the money train keeps rolling and half the clubs don't go bust then it's a good thing. Don't know what it'll do to anyone outside the PL though - probably their ruination in some cases. By and large it was rubbish - I honestly wasn't bothered by it after the first few matches.

Overall, I'd have just awarded the rs the title at the close of the normal season and finagled the promotions and relegations so no one unduly suffered and it was managed over the next season or two.

Of the many who said that they wouldn't watch one minute of the restart, I wonder how many actually stuck by their words. I doubt very many?

I may have missed it as I wasn’t really paying attention after it restarted but what happened to announcing test results for Covid? They seemed to do it every couple of days before it restarted and then unless I’m mistaken they stopped doing so. Why is that I wonder?

Can I ask....

What are your intentions for next season, assuming we are playing under restart conditions?

Probably lose interest very quickly. I'm hoping for at least limited return of fans over the start of the season, fingers crossed no threat of a new spike in Covid-19 cases and that things return to a semblance of normality throughout the season.

amen to that - would be surprised if we do end up getting to the match at all though

I wasn’t really interested got dragged in by a couple of average performances or rather results for us and then my interest levels Dropped pretty quickly after spurs .

I think a major part was the fact the league was all but over , the championship remained pretty exciting despite the lack of fans because so many had something to play for so I’m hoping it’s more like that when we kick off .

In reality it’s a different ‘product ‘ now but what’s the choice just not bothered until we have full houses ? That could potentially be a year or who knows what away , it’s about adjusting isn’t it. My big concern is that with no crowds and 5 subs the best team just wins and you could see the RS and city score stupid points next year which for me feels not the game I love . The lack of crowd pressure is the big miss , home team 1-0 down with 5 mins left and equalise that intensity has gone with a crowd and it really does worry me for the game .

I think its shown that without fans, its pretty much a farce,VAR banged the 1st nail in the coffin and playing games without fans has shown that without the crowds it tedious at best,I feel a fair few will have decided enough is enough, personally I have no interest in when the season starts

I think there's two answers to this really.

Was it good to have the footy back? Yes.

Was it good watching Everton during the return of footy? NO.
