Positive thinking

Say it! One through eleven need a good boot in the rear. No one I mean no one has been setting the game on fire for us the past ten games in the league. I would have one eye on replacing not just the back four but the midfield dross too. Route one football has it moments but not all the time like yesterday. Koeman has literally sent us back to the stone age.

We need to get a manager in ASAP. His first job needs to be the culling of certain players...I'm not sure who,but the manager decides, and this includes some of our recent 'bad buys'...again the new manager decides. We will take a financial hit, but the income from sales will cushion this in the January window, and we are not poor financially anyway. Mosh has learned(hopefully) an expensive lesson, but good can still come out of this with the right manager.

Palace, Huddersfield, and Bournemouth.

Is that the same Huddersfield that beat Utd 2 weeks ago? The same UTD we lost 4-0 to?

We should not even be being mentioned in the same sentence as those sides.

The fact is on paper we are 7th or 8th.

On the pitch we are 18th.

I've been a supporter for far less than many of you (only about 4-5 years). I'm in the USA so I don't get to see every match. I've read on here for months, but decided I'd add in my thoughts due to the dire situation at the moment. 2 wins in the last 16 matches, if I counted correctly. Needless to say, that's not acceptable and changes must be made.

First of all, we can't compound this mess by getting the new manager hiring wrong... We need manager who can sort this mess out. Obviously, we need to be very active in the January window as well. Selling more, but buying as well.

I know lineups have been changed a lot lately, and nothing seems to be working... but here's what I'd try if I was in charge (thankfully for all of us, I'm not):

4-2-3-1:
Pickford
Kenny, Keane, Holgate, Baines
McCarthy, Besic (Gana)
Lennon, Rooney (Siggurdson), Davies (Mirallas)
Sandro

As you see... I would leave out quite a few out of the starting 11. Williams, Jag, Gana, Siggurdson, Mirallas, Klaasen......

A few random thoughts on players:

Schneiderlin - sorry, but I don't see it with him
Siggurdson - still early, thrown into a bad situation admittedly but hasn't done much to inspire confidence in him as of yet (would say it's still to early to give up on this signing though, but for my taste... Rooney at the #10 for now)
Gana - Sorry again...I'm not his biggest fan, even if he's had a few really strong games. Like others on here, I think he's all over the map sometime and needs to be more disciplined and help the defense more. Yes, he wins a lot of balls... but there's more to playing that position. His 'finishing' is some of the worst I've seen...
Sandro - I want to see more of him, why isn't he getting more time? It's not like we have a striker, so why not throw him in there? Unless there's an injury I don't know about?

I don't think we're as bad as some suggest (in other words, I don't see us getting relegated despite the horrible form at the moment). I hope they don't rush/panic with the new manager hire... it's absolutely critical we get that one right!

It’s still unforgivable that we have screwed up successive summer windows. Yes there is some potential but if we don’t get things right quickly it gets harder to get quality players in and the current good players will want out

I really struggle with this point because I find it SO hard to understand how they never learned lessons from the first one. It's incompetent, hugely, and yet the club - I felt at least - assumed they'd be granted an 'Oh forget that anyway' pardon for doing biggish business quickly....despite it being clear now that it was the wrong kind of business entirely.

Most fans, and with only minimal heave & alternate opinion either way, knew the positions that needed strengthening/replacing. The LUKAKU farce is glaring - he was always off....and how that wasn't planned for on ALL bases (i.e. not just GIROUD) is, frankly, unforgivable.

A part of me hopes the MOSH has sat back through this, arms folded, temporarily impervious, judging how it's all run before he cracks his diamond studded whip and realises how cacky it is behind the scenes.

Yet another part of me is somehow saddened by the lack of MOSH reveal now RE a 'plan'.

It's lovely our esteemed leader gets on with Jim @ SKY, but if he spoke to us now and again that'd be cool as well.

The next appointment will tell us a LOT.

And if it's Sam, so be it, we (hopefully) avoid relegation. Hooorah....!!!

The only prob with that is it sets what was supposed to be a bright blue dawn back abaaaar 3 years, in short - the future is on hold until stability reigns.

But watching us ATM....well, right now I'd settle for that.

We're flirting with 2018 already, we have a loaded owner, a multi £££££ squad & plans for a new stadium.

Yet it has turned out like this....

Blimey.

As much as positive thinking is important, if it isn't backed up with a good plan and concrete action then it's usually just wishful thinking and delusion.

Our problems are fairly obvious but the biggest has to be the next managerial appointment. Get that right and half the battle is won.

Still haven't got over not strengthening the team when we qualified for champions league or Kings dock, we have always been a shambles since then.

Read an article that Lukaku left as we had a negative attitude, in that we set up not to lose instead of setting up to win a game.
