Manx Blue

Player Valuation: £2.5m
I woke up this morning, obviously nursing a huge dose of disappointment but more so with a sense of what could be achieved given the hand we have been dealt.

I’m convinced with the right managerial appointment & a team containing one new quality centre half, a young talented left back & a proven (yet very expensive) goal scorer we are on the verge of very good times.

The pieces are almost there:

Pickford

Coleman
Keane
Player ???
Player ???

Vlasic
Davies
Gana
Lookman

Barkley / Sigurdsson

Player ???

It’s going to take a lot more money unfortunately but there it is.

The potential really is there but we have FOUR key areas to address, five if we consider Barkley.

Manager
Centre Back
Left Back
Centre Forward
Barkley

Over to you Farhad, make us great again.

It’s still unforgivable that we have screwed up successive summer windows. Yes there is some potential but if we don’t get things right quickly it gets harder to get quality players in and the current good players will want out

Davies and Gana can't play together IMO

Hopefully this period has made all at the club now patently aware of what needs urgently addressing and we act accordingly. Massive January window ahead.

For me, Pickford is a good shot stopper, and will pull off the odd worldie, but he is the one consistent change from the team last year, so I don't know why people aren't questioning him more. He seems to have little in the way of presence, authority or organisation, and he seems to be getting a free pass because people can't stand Joel.

Also, I'm not convinced on Keane yet, Coleman will take time to get back up to speed, and Gueye is the most overrated player we've had in a long time.

Then there's Barkley/Sigurdsson, 1 doesn't want to be here, and the other is still injured and has been frozen out.

That aside, we look OK.

Confidence is massive in football, it's the mentality that needs changing. Unsworth unfortunately is in charge of a toxic group of players. No idea how he or anyone else can change it at this point. Has all the watermarks of Villa a few years ago.

I feel pretty positive. The championship will bring loads of different opposition. Plus we could mount a serious challenge for the playoffs. Premier league is dead anyway. Cannot wait

It's one thing knowing what parts of the jigsaw are needed, but it's another getting hold of them. Not many players (and Managers) are going to want to be part of a survive and rebuild project; unless you want the likes of Big Sam and proven goalscorers like Defoe.

The only area Koeman significantly improved is the goalkeeper.
Had too much golf to play to fix the rest.

The positive being we really needed a decent keeper.

Positive thinking?
I go away Sunday and so I miss the Watford game
I'm not in the auto-cup scheme for the Atalanta game
We've got 28 league games to turn it around
the FA cup
