Position which needs another addition the most

What we really need lads....

wait? is this based on january? long term it would be keeper but atm we need to flog gueye and get someone with mirallas/donovan attributes. Good pacey player who can be Right Mid backup or striker backup. Look at how many points hernandez gains man utd each season, just by coming off the bench. Same also to dzeko - game changing subs is what we need to compete with the very best - just like vellios did vs spurs

I went for Attack on the basis that without Jelly there's no replacement of anything like comparable quality. Never mind thinking about injuries, Jelly just doesn't have any pressure for a shirt.

I happily agree Miralas could have the quality as a stand-in but he's looked so good on the right it just feels crinimal to put him anywhere else on those select few times he's up to a game.

Velios always feels to me like watching a mate's brother in a trial match. I really want him to do well, he puts a bit of effort in and generally it comes off but I'm still sceptical he's actually got the quality.

As for Gueye I wish the club could be run as a proper business sometimes. He appears to be nowhere near the first team, he's been here a while so make a decision and just ship him out.

And Anichebe is ****.

I voted for defence but really given our finances my vote is for best available. We have no money and can't afford to make a mistake -- if Moyes thinks the best available is a defender then get him; if he's a midfielder then get him; if he's a striker then get him; or if he's a nets then get him.

Here's my point: Let's say I agree we need a striker the most. However let's also say we could get Lescott back (just for sake of argument and ignoring personal feelings). Doesn't that improve our shot at CL more than almost any *realistic* striker we could get? So if the stars align to drop a fantastic player in our laps we should probably take him (or her!) no matter the position.

I'm not sure targeting a specific position or type of player and forcing that transfer through (especially in Jan with a limited window) is a good idea. I might be missing the point of the poll though. I might just be being contrary. Sorry. NETS!

In order of priority:
1 - Class second striker. One we'd be happy to start alongside Jela or to give him pressure when he's misfiring. Anichebe and Vellios will not cut it, especially since Vic is injured. Without Jela, which striker starts?
2 - Midfield damage man. Replacement for Neville, backup for Neville, what have you. If we can stille have Vadis Odjidja, we will take him.
3 - Winger. Nani was mentioned in another thread. He's totally unrealistic, but we need someone like that. Mirallas is out too often and Naismith can't cut it on RM.
4 - Centre Back/Allround defender. Still could do with some solid full back cover, or an eventual replacement for Distin, etc. We're awfully thin there if we're forced to play Heitinga every week.
5 - Goalie. I think Howard is doing great and with 5 years consecutive in the PL, i figure he might as well keep going. Does good sometimes, and he's had his days. Been sorta gash the last year or so, but still dependable. Also just like his personality. We will never be better off with Butland or whatever.

If we get Holtby and Gameiro i will jizz like a firetruck in a greek protest rally.
