the less the better, people on here will spend the next 3 months arguing over net spend otherwise

Also, take off what we still owe Chelsea, minus whatever make weights they foist on dumb and dumber.
We'll be lucky to get 56M and double our money

Technically it would be 10 million

We won't have to take off what we 'still owe' Chelsea.

It doesn't work like that.

I would imagine if we were dealing with chelsea then it would work like that as we still technically owe on the deal and that could cut 10 million off the asking price, making a very expensive deal look slightly better on paper for the accountants.

Personally i think the 70 million will be realistic. I don't believe he will go for more mainly because he is an everton player and no club in this country at least would want to pay the sorts of sums that would essentially strengthen us.

I will say one thing, the price will also include a NO EXCUSE FOR NOT BUYING BETTER PLAYERS this time round. None of these relegation battling clubs to do business with, the transfer kitty should be 100 million after sale (and hopefully money available) so there is no excuses this time round not to bring in 5-6 quality players. If we end up with more bolasies and williams' this summer (not knocking them) then we know the club is a joke no matter who is pulling the strings.

Will probably be around 70 but it should be more. We rejected that last year. He'said added to his value since and has two years left on his contract. Milk it for all we can.

It will be more than 70m. We rejected close to that last season. He's got 2 years left on his deal. It'll be higher.

And well, Sigurdsson plays for a relegation-battling club, but would definitely improve us (just as Bolasie and Williams have).

In fact, our best player last season - Gueye - came from the worst-ever Prem team.

So yeh, stop fretting about 'where' the players are coming from. If we move for them it's because they have been identified by Koeman and Walsh as players that will improve us.

The thing is mate, this argument can go back and forth all day about the players and probably all that needs to be said has been said.

The thing is, the clubs above us, all 6 of them, how many of them are going to be raiding the relegated teams? Plucking a top youngster is one thing but signing their first team? So why should it be acceptable for us to be doing that?

Plus i do not believe Siggurdson would improve us to the point of being better than one of the teams above us, if he was then one of those teams would have him already, and certainly one of them wouldn't have sold him back to swansea.

It's been said many times that Poch didn't want to sell Gylfi but a deal had already been agreed.

But yeh, I understand your point.

Thing is, accept that current, that's where we're at. We can shop abroad and it looks like we are doing, but still those aren't going to be players from 'big' or currently extremely good European clubs - unless they're 'cast offs'.

Schneiderlin was a 'cast off', and he's probably our best player after Rom as it stands.

I really don't understand why people worry about where the players come from. If they're good enough they're good enough.
