I don't know if the football is better or worse yet, but I'd definitely say it's more enjoyable, yes.

Martinez's positive attitude is infectious and there just seems to be an overall good feeling about the club. He also isn't at pains to remind us how bad the 90s were every time something goes wrong on the pitch - something which really annoyed me about Moyes.

It's the playing out from the back at the wrong time that worries me though, getting ourselves in a muddle, Distins back pass/shot at howard an example.

I said before the season started that early on we'd concede a goal directly from dicking about at the back, if it weren't for Barry I'd have been proven right.

Horses for courses though, it's nice to have a change from the medieval kick and hope we'd have for the first few months of some seasons. The start of 11-12 was some of the worst football I've ever seen and saw us attendance figures barely crack 30 thousand on some occasions.

I dont care if we concede 3 goals a game just as long as we score one more than the opposition which so far we've shown we can.

One things for sure, i certainly aint missing being 1 nil up with 35 minutes to go and another defender gets thrown on only for us to concede.

There has been teething problems but the signs are positive and the players still wont be firing on all cylinders yet with robertos methods and style.

fkin hell mate your good! are you a shrink? Just split up with my missus hahahaha!

sorry for the unusual negativity...lets address the balance...

weekend was awesome for me...56 minutes Martinez makes match winning change.

89 minutes, moyes makes negative defensive change - i wonder did he turn round looking for heitingha - and it cost 2 points.

Happened game after game last season and that for me is one of the massive bonus points. Martinez positivity, game changing subs looking for the win.

We played some great stuff at times under Moyes, Man U 3-1 at GP springs instantly to mind. But that was like 8 years in...RM is 8 games in. Im convinced were gonna see some pant wetting football towards the end of the season

Martinez has done similar subs to what you describe for us this season.

I put yes, despite the boring periods of some games, I think we look pretty good and we are noticably improving game on game as well and havn't plateued imo.
On a par with last season for me and on the same points, good times.

True, the half time changes at West Ham were boss though, as was taking off Osman at the weekend.

Rusty b*llocks is still waiting till the hour mark to put a 40 year old on ffs.

I'm not so sure. The clowning around at the back's a bit laboured to watch at times.

But, good to see Barkley involved, good to see positive subs, and thanks to Moyes and Walter it will take a while to recognise actual football again. So definitely approve of the overall experience.

Voted yes ,and I'm someone who didn't want Martinez as manager, considering he took over a team who could hardly put three passes together think he's done great, have said a few times on here that it will take a few transfer windows to get in the type of players he wants. but if his next three windows are as good as he last one we could be in for some good times, as someone has said on here where not going to win the league so lets be entertained, so far I think we have, I've come out of most of the games happy with what I saw.

The passing at the back is good when you're winning, you cant attack for 90 minutes so what wrong in keeping the ball and passing around. Better then booting the ball up the field and defend, repeat for the last 20 minutes.

...I think the signs are that we will be more expansive, but to be fair I've answered no to the question because the first 3 games or so were not very pleasing on the eye. That's not to say I'm dissatisfied, I like the way we are progressing but we have played some decent stuff over the past few seasons.

No

I don't think we are particularly playing better football, Baines and Coleman having free licence to bomb on (particularly at home) last season was a highlight for me and Martinez seems to have stopped this and whilst we are seeing less of Distin and Jags playing long balls from back to front if theyd had Lukuka to aim for last season rather than out of form Jelly we might well have finished in the top four.

However, I like the progression and I agree with what Martinez is attempting to do. I know people say the Hull game would have been a game we wouldn't have won last season and they might be right. We are not as predictable as we were under Moyes, so I guess thats improvement.

You didn't watch the Newcastle game then.

No

find it quite boring to be honest, I would like it if our players passed it a lot quicker. Find it a bit boring at the minute

Anti-football you lad. Didn't you say you'd rather see us playing like Stoke than Barcelona, as you hate 'all that possession crap'? Baffling.

Oh and I think Coleman and Baines have just as much license to get forward. Against Norwich they were both in the 6 yard box for Coleman's goal and Lukaku had a shot which nearly got fumbled at the weekend - who was following in? Coleman.

We often played some amazing stuff under Moyes (though not when we really needed to) so can't answer yes honestly. But it just feels more positive and less tentative. It feels like we have a more relaxed, decisive manager so you could say the experience of watching a game is not as nerve wracking under Martinez.

Agreed.

Coleman is as swashbuckling as ever.

And as for Baines, we aren't seeing him as effective in an attacking role this season because his partner in crime and with whom he has a telepathic understanding, has been missing for practically all of this seasin thus far.
