For his influence off the pitch, his winning mentality and experience, and his underlying touch of snide that I just know will surface occasionally, I went for the boy in the blue pyjamas.

Has to be Pickford, for me. He is going to be around for a while and will only get better. Very commanding of his area, no messing, vocal, confident. Not tall (for a keeper), but very agile. liking what I have seen of him, so far. Will be England's number 1, glad he is ours.

That he is a quality defender, young, on a very reasonable fee, and who looks like he's slotted in seamlessly.
