tomorrow they have meeting to say were it is,but reports were that it was still going to be at Goodison, others are normal so far,Liverpool are due to play palace at anfield which could actually be the day they confirm it,so bit strange from them

Yep it's completely daft. More chance the league will be won on the Wednesday at anfield, and that's going ahead at the original venue so why not let the derby go ahead at goodison?

Has VAR actually been scrapped? I keep reading that on here but I'm sure I heard on TV that they were just going to space out over several rooms so it would still go ahead.

If there's a chance Liverpool could win the league that day, they likely won't release the venue, and we won't know till kickoff, stop fans going there if the league were to be won.

that's a good point tbf, why should they let the public know any of the venues? What's the point, nobody can go there anyway, so long as the people involved get told about it in time, that's all that matters. They obviously won't keep it a secret, but it's not something which the public should be made aware of, because there's only negative consequences to be made from the public knowing where these games are played.

Might as well play at finch farm we can't go anyway, just be like watching a training session anyway. Joke!

exactly, why does it have to be at a stadium? is this purely because the TV camera has to be at the right angle? Training grounds are in much more open spaces, you don't need to worry about tunnels etc. It seems players may be arriving to games in their kits anyway and if getting changed in the car/on the side of the pitch is okay at under 10s, what's the big deal now?

i don't know enough about training grounds to know if it'd be easier for crowds to generate outside gates to watch or not, but this can be easily managed if an issue.

like you say, it's a joke, all the rules have changed, there's going to be no crowd etc. it'd be a lot easier to keep a lid on sanitisations if games were played at training grounds than at stadiums.

Talking of Jokes! Just read “Sky are introducing ‘celebration cam’ for when players score”, apparently it’s to enhance the spectacle for fans lol lol lol, even better it’s will “spark memories of Slippy G’s iconic celebration when he ran to the corner flag and kissed a camera”! :coffee::coffee::coffee:

They are turning these games into the PL version of It’s a Knockout!

The Merseyside derby might be played at St Mary's Stadium if Goodison Park does not receive the required safety certificate, according to The Athletic.

Premier League clubs voted that games should only be played at neutral venues as a contingency, however there is a growing concern about the Merseyside derby.

Wembley, the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and the King Power Stadium have also been listed as possible venues if games need to be played elsewhere.

However, it is thought that it would be easier and safer for the two sides to fly to Southampton rather than make the journey to Leicester or London by train or road.

A safety advisory group is set to meet on Wednesday morning to make the decision over the licence, including representatives from the police, ambulance, and fire services, as well as supporters' groups.

But a decision on venue could be delayed until after Manchester City's game with Arsenal, with Liverpool unable to win the title if Pep Guardiola's side beat the Gunners, therefore lowering the concern that supporters would turn up at Goodison.
Imagine restarting the season and this being allowed to happen, At St Mary's ffs, It comes across like if Arsenal beat City then it'll unlikely be at Goodison but if City beat them it might go ahead since they can't win the league at that stage.
