With the media coverage of it over here in blighty, you'd be forgiven for assuming that the actual Presidential election is between Obama and Clinton. There is little or no mention of the Republican candidates.
Now, now, be fair. The Beeb are the ones who have been producing stories on the Republicans. Just finished reading a background piece on Giuliani over there. (And what a cock-up that was!)
Better story. First black president vs first female president, plus Bill's Mars bars, Kennedy associations. Or two boring old conservative white men (one of whom will win anyway).
Sure, that's fair enough. Guess I just expect a bit more balance from a public broadcaster. The whole contest seems to be a political X Factor. Guiliani said this week that Ron Paul won the Florida debate hands down but he gets nowhere. People seem to be voting for personalities rather than policies, which is probably a good thing considering how flimsy some of them are.
