Maybe change your team for every playing round? Was up to 7th before todays matches.

That doesn't work.

You get one 'start' per position on the pitch for each game.

So if you end up say, playing two right backs a week for the first 19 games of the season, you wouldn't get any points for right back in the remaining games.

I keep messing about with the team but I've no idea whether I'm making things better or worse. If it didn't seem nonsensical to say it I'd be inclined to suggest the whole thing is completely random. I love it already!

How best to explain it...

You start the season with this -

Goalkeeper - 38
Right Back - 38
Centre Back - 76
Left Back - 38
Right Mid - 38
Centre Mid - 76
Centre Forward - 76

Every time one of your players gets points, it takes one number off of whatever position they were playing in.

So, if for example you put one team out on a Saturday, and then switched players round for Sunday to get extra points, it is self defeating, because this only means that you won't be able to play those players later on. You'd run out of starts.

Arr...just think about it.

With regards to the points system -

From the other thread:

Under the league drop down have a look at the league tables by category we all get a score out of 18 (total number of teams in our league) based on players performance on the weekend.

E.g. best team from each category gets 18 and so on down to worst who gets 1. The ratings are set after each game day not game week, on Saturday everything was tallied up and the teams with guys who did well Saturday got top points.

Last night the players from Sunday were factored in, based on this teams moved up and down in each of our league categories then total points were re-done based on the 1-18 scale. difference shows your movement compared to the last game day.

E.g. DutchlandToffees had 2 players on Saturday who got a cleansheet (Higgingbotham & Ilunga) put them in the second tier of cleansheets and equaled 14 points on the clean sheet table. Yesterday they had another player get a cleansheet (Wes Brown) so this totaled 3 cleansheets and puts them equal first with 4 others add up 18, 17, 16 & 15 equals 66 divided by 4 means we got 16.5 points each for cleansheets.

Add up all ten of your categories and you get your final score

Ahhhh..
I actually get the scoring now. Took me 2 weeks and a lot of explanation but i got it! (y)

I'll try and help explain it dummy style (cuz im a dummy).
Basically I fielded a team of dregs this midweek. (Dregs which all started and mostly played a full game mind you).
So I got max points (18) for Minutes played for both forward/mf and defence/gk. That also means I came first out of everyone in the league for that stat. What I didn't expect was my team of tossers to actually win their games. so I also came first for League Points won. Huzzah to me! b)
My goals scored record is shocking tho, I think only Bassong and McFadden have scored so far, so I'm near the bottom for that stat. (6.5)
I can't imagine why though, with my leet strike force!
(McFadden, Paterson, Benitez and Kalou).

Hi People,

Lets put it this way 4-4-2 is the most commonly used formation and so is the default formation for this game.
In a premier league season Everton play 38 matches.

So based on this:
goalkeeper position is available 38 times
Right back 38 times
Centre back 76 times (2 x 38)
Left back 38 times
Defesnsive sub 38 times and so on.....

and so for your team in fantasy land you only get to use each position the equivalent amount times it is available (in 4-4-2 formation) for a team playing the real premier league. How you use them is entirely up to you but for every time you use 4-3-3 you need to use 4-5-1 and vice versa to use up all the slots.

For example: Just say your goalkeepers are Howard and Cech
Do you just play Howard every week and he will represent your team 38 times.
Or do you rotate them when they play on different days. Say Everton play on Saturdays and Chelsea play Sundays you would use up your goalkeeper position in game week 19.

ignore me.

a bottle of red wine later means i can't tell the difference between davenport and bardsley.

i bet bardsley is glad he isn't davenport tonight though.

hutton................. he is 3rd choice now at spurs? any other day i'd snap your hand off.

He's played both games mate, and even if he moved to us then he'd start.

Believe me Im reluctant to let him go, but Im after a strong centre half.

Any offers anyone?
