Playing to win

The truth is that we have a manager who only really needs a point a game or less to be seen as a miracle worker by his buddies in the media. He keeps us up and the legend grows. The man who keeps Clubs up.

He is probably on a decent wedge just to keep us up. He isn't looking to build something, so just throw players under the bus, preserve the keepy uppey legend and dump all over the Club.

Part of me though thinks that at least he has given us the breathing space to get the next managerial appointment right. The football might be turgid but at least we will be safe. Get the next managerial appointment right and all can be forgiven.

With yet another away loss, I beg the question when was the last time we played to win?

Seems to me we play for the point, aim to play very little football and hope upon hope we somehow see the game out with the point.
The Allardyce way. We brought him in, we are responsible for our actions.

I don't think sam even plays for a point. He plays against crap teams not to win which means lose or draw. What a joke of a man.

The BFS theory is that we start the game with a point so if we do absolutely nothing and dont allow the other team to do anything then we will end the game with a point. Makes perfect sense if your definition of success is 40 points. Oh the other thing is you cant let them score.

Look at this - it's absolutely beautiful and a million miles away from what we are now....

Oh my God, he's doing the Camelot bit again.

We started 2 strikers against Burnley. Their 21 shots suggest we didn’t play to win though.
We never will with Sam though. He is used to operating at the bottom end of the table were getting a point is vital to those sorts of teams let alone three points, it is just his mentality, it is all about not conceding because even if his team does'nt score aslong as they keep the opposition out they get their point. It will always be safety first.
