But it's not just a one off cup tie. You are comparing two cup ties. City v Wigan and Arsenal v Everton. The likelihood of both going to the underdog is low.
Everton are a good side but arsenal are better. They will beat Everton more than they will lose to them.
Same with City and Wigan, it just so happened they beat them yesterday and we lost to Arsenal on Saturday.

Except we weren't an "underdog" in the sense Wigan were.

We have emerged with draws the last two times we have played at the Emirates in the league.

And we drew with then at Goodison last season.

So the last three three league meetings with Arsenal have been draws.

You guys need to lose the inferiority complex.

Yes, Arsenal were favourites on Saturday....but not overwhelming favourites.

And as many of us have stated here since the game....a bit more awareness from both Mirallas and Lukaku and a bit more composure from Barkley could have seen us build up a two or three goal lead before the penno.

These are sides that come up against europe's best and plan with the same mindset against us. Wigan however much city claim otherwise will not take them seriously and feel they are bound to win at a canter!

I've said this for a couple of years now We are treated as a big game for these top sides who are better than us. More so than your Newcastle's etc....it's makes it that bit harder for us. I truly believe that.

And that is the point I am making to them as are likening our match at Arsenal to Wigan going to Citeh.

If Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho recognise that EFC is a major force and set out their teams to nullify our threat, then it is time some among our own fans did the same and stopped comparing us to Wigan.
