Well I'll emphasize that I said I "think" we'll get it right.

Obviously not a guarantee.

While things aren't good. I don't think they're near as bad as some are making them out to be.

I wouldn't call that blind. I'd just say that much of the negativity has been based on pure speculation and nothing more.

Conspiracy theories abound when it comes to Everton without a shred of evidence.

I'm just one who happens not to buy into all these theories that have been bandied about.

Unanswered questions + past [Poor language removed] ups, have given us the right to speculate on what's going on. Nobody can say that we have just been unlucky in the transfer market. Someone is causing the issue, or something. That is undeniable.

I think we're in danger of attacking different targets here.

Off the field I tend to agree with you that there is much the club could do to improve its operations. As I've said, it would be fantastic if the club could utilise the brain power available in the fanbase to improve. We have to be practical about how this could be achieved though. If we're simply going to attack, attack, attack then it's probably human nature to get defensive. As any negotiator will tell you, once people get entrenched in positions it becomes very hard to shift either party. Instead I think we need to approach the club as rational adults (that incidently I'm sure most of us are in our offline lives) rather than the trigger happy people that are happy to judge others based on minimal facts that many portray on the web.

If we're talking about the on pitch situation however, which I believe was the intention of the original post, then I think we have made undeniable progress. I also believe that Moyes has a well thought plan to see the club forward, and that we owe it to the man to see that plan out. I don't suggest there won't be mistakes made because there will be, but if we think of the long-term then I think we'll be ok.

It's ok though, Blue Bill is a massive blue, and sat in the boys pen.

That's all that counts isnt it!

Didn't say that people couldn't speculate.

Just excuse me when I don't jump on the negativity bandwagon as it rolls on by.

But until someone comes out with some cold hard facts regarding what's caused our current predicament, I'll continue on my current track of not worrying about something I can't control.

The aim of the post was more generic then on the pitch or off it. But if you want to talk about on it, we have not made progress, because we have had a poor pre-season, lost players and not really replaced them, or improved the squad to get to a point where we can compete on four fronts.

We are now starting to see the rotting fruits of lazy labour. And I know we have tomorrow, and there are players signed. But as far as I am aware the season started two weeks ago.

I agree we have made progress, since Moyes came we have improved the squad, that is no doubt, but surely you have to admit that this season we have only taken a step back?

Some would say that's head in the sand mate, but whatever makes you happy. I will be positive when something really positive happens.

Some would call it "head in the sand."

But what good would come from me moaning about our current situation? I'll answer that.

The exact same good that's come from everyone else moaning which is nothing.

I'm perhaps not making my point very well, or not saying long-term enough :)

We have made clear progress since Moyes has been at the club. That's long-term.

Having a poor summer in the transfer market, that's short-term. We'll learn from it and I'm sure get better for next time, just as we did in Europe.

I'm not really sure what else I can say. Maybe someone else can get my point across better than I :)

No, you weren't, Ghost. You were being positive a few weeks ago and pissing all over anyone who disagreed with what you thought then. The youth were going to save us and anyone who didn't have your close personal information sources was full of [Poor language removed] and didn't know the first thing about the club.

Now it's /* dramatic sigh */ maybe because you are the only one that /* sigh */ cares enough because you /* sigh */ supported the club since you were little.

[Poor language removed] me. You're a bigger drama queen than Bill Kenwright and that's going some.

That we can write off this season as a mistake that we will learn from and although its a setback that we couldnt improve this year, next season will be the one where we come back stronger?

1 step backwards and 2 steps forward is better than 1 step forward and 2 steps backward?

I can understand that point of view but i think as seemingly a lot of people do that its way more that just a "mistake" and 1 bad summer. That the problems run way deeper then that.

Be nice if you're right and we should all follow your example but its kinda hard to do that right now.

If Moyes thought this was a short term blip in a long term project that's on course he'd have signed a new contract by now. Just on that evidence alone we can gather that something is rotten in the state of Denmark...and we're not talking Jacobsen.
