Players Who Didn't Quite Make It?

Rooney has peaked I'm sure of that , I dont think he will ever be as good in an England shirt as he was during the Euros when he was a blue!

When we signed Williamson I thought he would do well, came highly rated at the time, made so few appearances and yet we still had to pay him for the remainder of his contract

He's no flop, I'm not trying to say that. Just in an England shirt he has never since the Euros gone on to dominate in the way most thought he would.

Gary Megson, Mike Bernard, Gary Jones, Alan Biley, Geroge Telfer, Peter Beagrie, Paul Wilkinson - all good players who never quite 'clicked' the way we wanted.

John Ebrell. I don't know why he never blossomed into a top class player....his football brain was superb, it's just he was badly gash for a while and never got over it apart from a spell under Royle

I only remember him playing for Royle and being decent.

Im sure hes fooked now though, its his ankles IIRC ?

Moyes would bite your hand off for the next Ebrell!
Didn't an RS snap his shin pads with a shocking challenge one? Not even a card back then.

Branch - Royle hailed him as the next Fowler and even gave him the number 23
Jon O'Connor - Royle hailed him as a future england captain. I don't know what happened to him, but when he first played for us, i thought he was quality
Tony Grant - Royle hailed him as the next Cantona!
