Players we really should not have kept so long

Bobby signed the spine of a relegated Wigan side and expected to improve us.
He signed some crap players in his time here
Got lucky with Lukaku and Barry on loan

I don't really think luck was involved when signing one of the best attacking prospects in football and a proven premier league player who has done everything.

As for the Wigan players, McCarthy was a good signing, Alcaraz was always meant to be an experienced back up player, Joel was decent and only a back up anyway (and technically not a Wigan player..) and Kone got a terrible injury after what, 3-4 games?

In b4 Jags/Baines.

I'd go with Williams, shouldn't have lasted more than one season. Jags is a fat old thing too, but at least he still has it, sometimes. Williams was absolute gash apart from a couple of other goals.

Also, Mirallas and his bad attitude.

Does anyone remember that when alcaraz FIRST signed people actually liked him and thought he was good for a while? I do

I really CBA looking back over the forum but 1million% people at the time thought he was half decent when he started his everton career quite well ( more quality over quantity in regards to apps ) thing just went massilvely downhill towards the end of the season, remember him getting a red card or something and then kiev finished him off

I can think of a couple of ongoing players being kept too long. Pennington should never have been offered a new contract and Niasse should be turfed at the very next opportunity.

Surely the Pist One? oh and Shandy as well..

Did you know that Shandy never completed a full 90 minutes in an Everton shirt.. that's pretty awful stat when you think how much he was paid by the club.

Loans for McFadden, Gravesen, Jeffers we all fairly dreadful calls by Moyes.

I wonder what the ratio is to players signed, to those who make the first team.

..if we’re talking about youngsters bought for U23 level, then I think the number coming through would be low but if you think of the money we got for Stones, plus the likes of DCL and Holgate the strategy does make sense. Hornby, Adeniran and Gibson will be interesting to watch.

The biggest waste of space.. Conor McAleny. How long did we persist with him?

Garbutt, as mentioned above. Going way back: Dai Davies and other sundry average or worse players in the heady days of the 1971-81 (mostly poor).
