Add Torry Gillick to the list of championship winners in 38-39 sold prematurely post-war.Tommy Lawton, sold to Chelsea, sounds familiar. Broke their scoring record in his first season, Everton this, that and the other.
Not a player I'm familiar with, enlightenment please.Add Torry Gillick to the list of championship winners in 38-39 sold prematurely post-war.
Lineker wanted out didn’t he? Seen an old motd interview with Desmond lynham asking venables and lineker about the move . Lauri mcmenemy told them they should be speaking to HK and it’s out of order.
Saying that, in those days there were no Bosmans so we could have forced him to stay, that being the case, Steven, Stevens tc should all have been kept
I am one of the first names on the Ireland team sheet and I am not Irish or a Professional footballer.Shane Duffy we've been poor defensively while he's gotten better and is now one of the first names on Ireland's team sheet.
I think you said it all there Carlin, he was tailing off drastically by the time we sold him and as we now know he did rock all after that so IMO the truth is we got good money for him and his career went downhill thereafter, shame but fact.
I'll never forget that Beckford goal nobody talks about

Haven't heard that one Si.sorry if already said but wasn't he another one like Ball? didn't we ruin his ankles making him play so much so young and half injured, I heard we basically patched him up for the arsenal transfer where it promptly broke down not long after
I watched a reserve game at Southport, and a young lad playing up front for Oldham ran him ragged,so after that I was never a fan,but he did go on to have a decent career (except for his og record).Bit like Keane in that he could only play well in teams that defended deep.Forgot about the Dunneymonster. Again, young talent not flourishing under Smith and Knox...
Still shiver when I think of that Villa game.Kroldrup was a good player. He just wasn't very good here in the one and a half games or so he got for us.
