McCarthy was wigatonised after spending too long under Booby.I don't get all the McCarthy hate. I mean, yeah, his form is atrocious right now, but I can see him being useful as the sole defensive mid in a team, more or less because it's what he does best and going forward isn't his strength AT ALL.
But it's weird, because if you look at him in Hamilton and all that, he was an attacking midfielder with a good finish and an eye for goal - nowadays he can't kick a ball further than 20 feet ffs
If your name isn't Ross Barkley, do one.
Also, Ross needs to lose weight. You can balance a pint on his backside.
Personally I'm bored of him. Bored of having the most boring centre midfield partnerships in the history of football altogether tbh, sign someone decent who can do more than run around
Well said. Evolution not revolution. Wholesale change almost never works.I wouldn't get rid of too many players and I don't think we need an overhaul which some people bizarrely think. If I were the new manager I'd be focused on who to GET rather than who to get RID of.
It's clear that Howard, Pienaar, Osman, Hibbert, McGeady and most probably Gibson are going out the door. That's SIX players. And we need to replace them with a goalkeeper, a rightback, and a left footed winger. That is paramount.
It was the manager that needed changing. Cleverley is a good player, but he is never a left winger, which is where Martinez stupidly played him.
