Players leaving Everton going to pot

Rooney has not progressed at Manchester United. He has not improved as a player. Yes, he has won things, but Ferguson has completely stalled his development. Instead of building the team around him, he used him in a number of positions to suit the team. Shame, really. I honestly think he could have become the best in the world, but he chose the money over the sport.

I reckon Rooney would have been a far better individual player if he had stayed with us. He won more medals at Man U. The price of that was to become one of Fergie's workhorses.......

This.

Whilst winning lots of medals and earning lots of dosh is very acceptable in its own right, that isn't the same as becoming a better player.

And I still maintain that Rooney never became the player he looked like he could have become when he was young.

If he had stayed with us for a further three or four years he could have become a Galactico at the Bernabeau, like much inferior players like Beckham, Owen and Bale.

A genuine world great like Ronaldo and Messi rather than "one of Fergie's workhorses".

Stretford might have made Wayne a lot of money....but he cost him his place among the truly great players.

don't know why but i have a feeling Barkley will end up there or Barca when he leaves us.

Lescott won a title for merely being part of a team of players whose average monthly wage is a few million quid each.

The grass is not always greener on the other side, i agree with Moyes He did manage players very well and got the best of out them during his time here.

And more important and for which every toffee should be proud he brought Everton stability, and moved us from a team that was accustomed to being at the bottom half to one that is rightly at the other end.

David, is that you?

One for the teenagers.

David Johnson became a top class international striker after leaving us for Ipswich and then moving to the RS.

Some players get a massive shock when they leave as they realize that not all fans are as supportive and faithful as us.

Two big ones that spring to my mind is Martin Keown &, Marco Materazzi (5 Seria A titles, 4 Italian Cups, 1 Champions League and a World Cup winners medal) and Seria Defender of the Year award in 2007)

Entered the thread thinking this was gonna be about Barkley, Baines, Coleman, McCarthy and Mirallas leaving and us becoming utter, utter crap.

Left the thread feeling refreshed with a hint of disappointment.
