Players from the bottom 3, anyone Moyes might like ?

There's some mighty fine pickings this year. Cutting out squad-worthy ones, I reckon the following are good enough for our starting XI:

Bolton

C.Y. Lee
Holden

Wolves

Jarvis
Fletcher

Blackburn

Hoilett (bosman I think)
Yaku... sorry

think theres a youth devolopment fee or something, i'd take fletcher defo

I'd be delighted with these two.

We need a playmaker and a RM more than anything else I think, personally. Those two would solve both problems between them. And also give us the pace we lack, too. Lee is lightning quick.

Ah yes, but still it wouldn't be too much (like £4m maybe?) and Hoilett is already a fantastic player. Factor in his age and he'd be a bargain for anyone.

I think Hoilett will go to one of Liverpool or Spurs personally.

Lee or Holden from Bolton would be cracking signings, as would Jarvis, Fletcher or Doyle from Wolves.

I'd also have a look at N'Zonzi from Blackburn if we lose one of Fellaini or Rodwell, I quite like the look of him.

N'Zonzi looks decent but I'd go for Diame myself. Even though Wigan stayed up I think he's either on a bosman or has hardly any of his contract left, and Martinez has confirmed he'll be leaving.

Holden only has one year left on his contract as well. He would be an absolutely great signing and would be the long-term replacement for Arteta. Injuries are the only concern we should have.

Yeah, however from he recovered well from his last injury so hopefully he will be fine after this current one. I feel bad for Holden, he's a quality guy and player yet he has the worst luck possible.

I would be made up with either Holden, Lee, or Hoillet. I think we would be stupid not to be looking at relegated players.

This topic arises every year but is it just me, or do we rarely poach relegated players? Only Distin comes to mind and we didn't really poach him as £5 million for an ageing CB was, at the time, probably steep (well worth it now though to be fair).

I don't think they're necessarily bargains because the relegated club will have parachute payments and maybe even relegation clauses in the players' contracts, so there isn't the urgency to reduce costs.

Fair point. There's definitely opportunity though, as there will always be players relegated who are too good for the championship. I hope this year we can have a real go at getting one of the above quality players.

I know he's been to watch us and I imagine he's pretty tight with Howard and Donovan. The logical step would be to give him a year in the Championship to prove his fitness and then snap him up on a free if we're going to lose Rodwell or Fellaini. He seems pretty loyal to Bolton though, so he may re-sign.

Unless Bolton gets a knockout offer I doubt Holden will go anywhere. I doubt his wage bill is high. Players from the MLS usually don't make that high wages in the prem and next to Sturridge I think he was their best player last year. Americans see 15K/week (approx $800K/year) and think they've hit the lottery given that unless you are Henry, Donovan, or Becks you are lucky to see $100K/year in the MLS.

Plus I could see Bolton running away with the Championship next year given that they should be healthy.

Hoilett would be the one for me. He has everything that we're lacking: pace, quick feet and an eye for goal. We could play him behind Jelavic or on the right. He'd be able to move abroad for free though, so Bayern could offer him a big pay rise and Champions League football.
