I don't think they're necessarily bargains because the relegated club will have parachute payments and maybe even relegation clauses in the players' contracts, so there isn't the urgency to reduce costs.

I was shocked how much Birmingham charged for the likes of Johnson and Ridgewell I must say. Not to mention Adam cost £10million didn't he?

Yeah. I think West Ham let Ba go because he had a release clause in his contract. The one thing in the favour of the Premier League club is that the player could push for a move to stay in the top flight.
 
Is that Chris samba still with Blackburn? If so, I reckon he'd be a good punt for decent defensive cover.

Bolton chairman Phil Gartside is planning to halve the club's wage bill this summer after watching them suffer relegation from the Premier League on the final day of the season.
