Player ratings vs Liverpool

Howard 6 - Not his fault for either goal and hardly did anything else.

Coleman 7 - Best game he's had for us in about a year. Dodgy for the first goal but good going forward and fairly solid defensively.

Jagielka 7 - Solid enough, typical Jags. Great block at one point.

Distin 6 - Decent performance, dunno what he was doing for their first goal.

Baines 8 - Baines, isn't he.

Mirallas 9 - MOTM. Lightning quick, tricky and direct. Won a few tackles, too.

Osman 8 - Finally turned up for the derby. Quality performance and was absolutely outstanding first half. Best performance so far this season from him.

Neville 6 - Best from him this season, too. He was actually very good first half. Point deducted for the dive.

Fellaini 6 - Won the ball in the air a lot but misplaced a few passes. Needs to improve.

Naismith 7 - His best performance in an Everton shirt. Worked hard, some good passes and got a goal.

Jelavic 5 - Missed a couple of chances, didn't really do anything else.

Subs:

Oviedo N/A - Couple of good balls in and he's lightning quick.

Gueye 3 - Utter dog turd. Get rid now.

I've seriously never heard such biased commentating in my life of watching football.

Didn't think Phil was too bad today actually. His 'dive' was a wee bit embarrassing though like..

Also think some of these ratings on Gueye are harsh too. I think it's mainly down to the fact that he was noticeably not as effective as Mirallas, but I didn't think he was "useless"..

Osman was first class today. Fantastic performance. Mirallas was also very, very good. Coleman is also becoming a real fixture in the team at right back. He doesn't quite have Baines end product yet but he's improving nicely.

Thought Fellaini and Jelavic were below par. Not sure why Gueye is getting slated for. He didn't set things alight but was neat and tidy. He wasn't helped by being swapped about by Moyes.

tubey how did u give Neville a 4. it was his best game without Gibson.

Gueye should be sold in January. hes not good enuff, 1 good game against Sunderland isnt enuff.

He's had worse games (hence why I'm not giving him a 1 and I'm scoring him on par with Distin and Jelavic) but to say he played well is just a bad lie. He ran about a bit towards the end of the first half but didn't do anything notable. If you watch it on Match Choice tonight, just watch the amount of times he shirks responsibility at throw ins, set pieces and general play by hiding behind a red shirt. And that's the captain!

Watch again - he refused to take the ball all game, and the way he jockeyed across when Shelvey ran through our midfield late on? Literally ran past Neville like he weren't there. Joke of a player.

As for Moyes, yet again we started the game anonymously for 25 minutes. Every. Single. Time.

I don't think we started badly? Wouldn't say we deserved to go 2-0 down more so we found ourselves 2-0 down.

Who was it mate, I had some dutch commentry on the link I had up, I'm swerving pundits full stop from now on.

On the game, I was all for slating Nev and Ossie's partnership before the match, but they did very well, especially Osman, though they are much more likely to suceed when Felli is on the pitch to help them out

I think there's a phenomenon on GOT where if we get an overall result we're happy with, people forget the bad bits.

That's the only way I can explain the applause Neville is getting and this comment quoted.

We went 2-0 down inside 25 minutes, at home, in a derby, and that's not a bad start.... :huh:

Mirallas 10 if he had stayed on we would have won sadly he made the sub Guyue look so slow -Oviedo looked far better on the left - a bad mistake by DM imo sub wise - sad that Mirallas got injured -turning point of the game he was so fast today the sh*te did not know how to handle him after 20 minutes onwards!

Howard 6 { not much to do but he needs competition}
Baines 8 { As always played his part attacking}
Coleman 7 { a few bad moments but looks he could make right back his own position}
Jags 7 { needs Duffy to supply the Height}
Distan 5 { shaky at times
Neville 6{ better than last week but lacks a killer ball}
Fellani 7 { good but looked as if he was carrying an injury}
Mirllaras 10 { great performance unplayable}
Osman 7 Good but tired
Naismith 7{ good but tired
Jelly 5 { totally no support but missed a clear header}
subs Guyue 4 Oviedo 6

On the balance of play we didn't deserve to be 2-0 down. We had most of the ball and were beaten by a set piece and a deflected shot.

Saying we had a bad start is not the same as saying we 'started anonymously', the latter implies that we were crap, we weren't.
