Player contract expiry dates

I expect Coleman to get another year and hopefully two things will happen, Dumfries/theNewRightBack will be a success and we will sign a right footed young right back a la nkounkou to take Colemans place when he retires.

The guys we really need to be moving on arent only those whose deals expire next year but also those players on long contracts not good enough...

Totally shocked at seeing Keane with 4 years left...Gordon and Holgate need big seasons.

3 years left for Iwobi and Gomes who both need to go and big seasons from Virginia and Gbamin needed.

Then the 2 year deals look messy, with a case for extending all of them.

Some big movement needed really and far more than the "half dozen" quoted in the telegraph

So they have some decisions to make on the contracts that expire in 2023.

Coleman will finish.

They may extend some to protect investment.

Can’t see Allan being extended. Townsend possibly depending how he performs, but likely not. Mina will probably be sold.

Not sure Nkounkou will stay if he can’t get game time.

look at the wasted wages in that list. It makes me weep.
We have got to start selling players. We need to get to a position where our unwanted players have value to other clubs.
The list is ridiculous, we could lose half of them and not make much difference to the team.

That is the reason we have struggles. We need to get back to some sort of normality with player sales. It is ridiculous. It shows how much we have over paid in wages. No one will take them.

Surely most of those with expiry dates in 2022 would be better moving now and having the difference between new deals and their contracts here paid up by Everton and whatever signing on fees they get.

It'd save Everton money and the player would get to be somewhere were they wanted with no financial loss to them. Or am I being hopelessly naive with regards to ffp and so on?

Next summer will be entirely different, and for the first time you will be able to say that this is Brands squad.

Not one of the 2022 expiring contracts will be renewed.

Huge wage bill savings, will surely allow us to spend. Of the 2023 expiring players I'd be renewing:

Allan (until 2024)
Doucoure (until 2025)

Form Pending:

Mina (until 2025)
Branthwaite (until 2025)
Nkounkou (until 2025)

Davies, Coleman, Rondon, Townsend would likely move on as well.

Contracts of Holgate, Keane and Gomes are the clear dangers moving forward. Potentially Iwobi if he slips back to his form of last year.
