Especially when it's used as such a spectacular patriotic smokescreen. Already heard 4 or 5 people mentioning his lifetime of service to this country. This country propped up his incredibly wealthy lifestyle whilst he popped around the world making racist and grim comments. And then we're asked to miss Homes Under The Hammer for him not being patriotic enough to get to a good British 100
Call me old fashioned, but I quite like the whole "all men are created equal" schtick, so it's a bit sad seeing so many people determined to prostrate themselves and prove that they really don't think they are at all.

The BBC's royal correspondent, Nicholas Witchell:

Royal correspondent is probably the best job ever tbh, literally never anything to do. you just report if someone opens the car door themselves or something.
The funny thing is that, apparently, the royal family hate him. They can see what a fawning loony he is and it reflects badly on them...well, hands as much damage as you can do to a family that Sieg Heiled its way through the 2nd World War, locked its mentally ill members up in attics, and assassinated their in-laws.

BBC suspended all non-news programmes, including the cricket commentary which suddenly went silent. Still got the pictures though ;)
