Phil Neville is a model skipper but could he also be the Toffees' next boss?

Pepe was at the heart of a European cup winning team, the best in barcelona's history. Phil Neville was at the heart of an fa cup runnes up team, possibly around the 30th best team we've ever produced, it's not really comparable.

barcelona everton not really comparable neither! as for pepe been brill manager me or you could manage that barcelona team just give the ball to messi as often as u can and he,l do the rest!!

well hes been here 10 years so a 100 big jobs and lets say theres 6 big teams so that means the 6 big teams have changed their manager every 6 months and not once did moyes get the gig! the man is a genius only for him we,d be a pompey or leeds by now and he is utds number one target so wont take a job anywhere else until that gig is going!!

There's more than one league in the world. Don't see Milan or PSG come looking for him either.

Because Moyes simply isn't a winning manager and at Man U you have to win and win big. Have you not notied the way ambitious clubs like chelsea, spurs, city etc never go for him because they know he's not a manager capable of winning trophies?

His dour defensive, cowardly football goes against everything Ferguson has been trying to do at that club and the fans would never accept it.

Oh and if you can't see that Guardiola is a genius then there's really little point in having this conversation as we clearly are watching different games.

i think hes a great manager to be fair i would just like to see him manage someone else other than barca and see how he gets on.

and on the moyes matter we just wont agree on this i think. but i will remember this thread and pm you in 2 years to say i told u so:lol:

I hate in-house dealings. Whether it's a manager doing business with his family in the transfer market and other services provided by them, or 'King-making' like this notion of how Moyes will abdicate to allow Neville in. It's corrupt to the core.

This is what sickens me about the idea, this cronyism where we have bunch fo crap coaches who got the job because they played for us and no other reason. You promote from within when think sare working and you just want to keep things ticking over. We're in decline right now, our current position isn;t acceptable and if moyes goes we need some new fresh air, not the same old, same old.

Plus we're a big club, it would be nice to get an actual manager who has actually won things, to treat managing us as an hnor rather something you give to a loyal servant like some sort of consolation retirement gift.

I reckon he'd make a good coach for us. As for management, like others have said, I would prefer if he would prove his credentials elsewhere before he got the job.

Reserve/youth manager when Moyes goes, for me. If he does well there we can give him the job when the next manager's offski.
