Phil Neville is a model skipper but could he also be the Toffees' next boss?

My opinion was always Gary Speed - For obvious reasons this won't happen now.

Neville for me just doesn't fit. He gives 100% no1 can deny that, but Everton need a passionate manage and Neville doesn't have the emotional attachment to Everton that i would want.

If your going down the ex player route. Weir or Stubbs

i would have agreed, but after seeing him mnage the reserve team theres no chance

I reckon Man U will keep SAF until his corpse finally decomposes completely. Shortly thereafter they will hire the trees which grow on top of his remains.

I think he has managerial qualities but I wouldn't want Everton to be his first job. I believe everyone has to serve some kind of apprenticeship in the lower leagues first with limited budget just to see if they can hack it without the money and improve whatever team he takes over. I can't recall any ex-players taking a big club over as there first job and being successful.

ye barcelona appointing guardiola didnt really work out did it!!!

Phil has said that he would want to go away for a bit as it would tough to make the transition from teammate to being the Boss.

once old fergie retires or snuffs it our ginger genius will be their number one man!

Why would they want a bloke who's never won anything? He's just not good enough for a top team and all the chairmen know it.

There's been a hundred jobs going begging at big clubs since he joined us and somehow he never gets offered them.

I hate in-house dealings. Whether it's a manager doing business with his family in the transfer market and other services provided by them, or 'King-making' like this notion of how Moyes will abdicate to allow Neville in. It's corrupt to the core.

...and as if Mioyes has done anything at all to be the arbiter of who succeeds him anyway. He'll have to win something to assume that mantle. He's just a long serving - and outrageously paid - hired hand, despite how highly he undoubtedly thinks of himself.

Guardiola-Neville is not a comparison you often here, like.

why would they not consider moyes?? i am sure he will be the next manager, time will tell on this though, and how is it not a same comparison? is guardiola actually that good. a lot of people could manage barca and win the league. even neville.. so u just never know how good he may be. i will agree though i would like to see him manage someone else before us though

well phil has been as important to us as pepe was to them as a player and as manger abilty only time will tell how good neville can be!

Pepe was at the heart of a European cup winning team, the best in barcelona's history. Phil Neville was at the heart of an fa cup runnes up team, possibly around the 30th best team we've ever produced, it's not really comparable.

well hes been here 10 years so a 100 big jobs and lets say theres 6 big teams so that means the 6 big teams have changed their manager every 6 months and not once did moyes get the gig! the man is a genius only for him we,d be a pompey or leeds by now and he is utds number one target so wont take a job anywhere else until that gig is going!!

Because Moyes simply isn't a winning manager and at Man U you have to win and win big. Have you not notied the way ambitious clubs like chelsea, spurs, city etc never go for him because they know he's not a manager capable of winning trophies?

His dour defensive, cowardly football goes against everything Ferguson has been trying to do at that club and the fans would never accept it.

Oh and if you can't see that Guardiola is a genius then there's really little point in having this conversation as we clearly are watching different games.
