Fellaini wasnt playing as himself for the first half, At all. His performance was below par for his standard and he was actually being quite lazy. He got the goal and his performance changed, And he started to play really well. I don't think he's an ACM and i don't think he should play there, He's a center midfielder who likes to get forward, And hopefully he goes back to that position when gibson is back.

I've seen this a few times and I honestly don't get it. I can see thinking it serves the team better for him to play where Neville and Osman are currently playing but that he can't play in his current role at all? No.

He is just better at cm, He has more room and normally dominates games more efficiently from there, When playing acm, Take away the two goals from yesterday he does seem to get in the way a lot of attacking play and except for the flick ons it makes the frontal force a lot slower.

Also, He is a lot better than both neville and osman, Neville especially in that position, We have other players who could play behind jelavic with fellaini dropping back giving us a more physical and technical pressence, Especially along side gibson, Which we play very very good football with those two in midfield.

DM has got to grow some balls & take the Captaincy off him, either Jags or Baines would make ideal Captains so he is not spoilt for choice only then PN can be drpped to the bench - If Gibson was fir PN would be right back not ideal when Coleman who is still learning is looking like a very good attacking wing back something PN & TH are not - JH looks to be too slow, {& needs to be sold in January} on the games he has played in this season so Dufffy should also be given his chance, five games last season MOTM in two = dropped the centre off our defence looks poor & Jags is playing very well - so Distan & JH are not doing it for me we lack Height at the back - Duffy would solve that problem Distan is not that commanding in the air ! IMO Distan & JH are at the wrong age - duffy needs a game - PN is the wrong side of 30 & is only a bench warmer in his last 2 away games he has been at fault for two early goals yesterday & at QPR!

Would argue that our best attacking performances last year were Newcastle, Sunderland, Fulham and West Brom at home and Man U, Swansea and Norwich away, where we didn't go with Gibson and Fellaini.

The three games the Gibson and Fellaini midfield dominated were Sunderland away in the cup and Chelsea and Man city at home where the focus was more on shutting out the opposition then dominating ourselves. I think it's telling that we went with Gibso and Fellaini sitting behind an attacking midfielder at wembley.

Yes he was okish in a good midfield - he is 35 woefully slow he has been a true professional -I just feel he is holding us back & while he is captain birdseye DM cannot drop him - some other player has to make way for him - he has no creativity - end off & he is yards of the pace - how many goals will he chip in from midfield this season???????

...but that's not his job. He does the dirty yards that frees up what is the midfield with the most goal threat we have seen in years.

We have just drawn 4 games neville has been reponsible for giving 2 goals away highlighted above is that what we really need? A Championship player could do that role for us! All I see is us starting with ten men when he plays he just passes sidewards, & backwards no creativity - He puts pressure on the good midfielders you mention - DM has to have the guts to take the captaincy off him & then he can become a good bit part player for us end of imo!

More chance of Moyse dropping Mirallas and pushing Osman out wide.
