Penalty box consistency

how the hell the lino saw that from where he was ? The normally dont see things 2 yards away

The whole distance thing between an official and any incident is so crap. How could a linesman not see it if there are no players in the way, he's not 2 bloody miles away you know.

The worst offender was Carragher that last season... how he didn't give away at least three penalties against us was shocking.

Just keep talking about it and it will get clamped sooner rather than later.

Jussi wasn't trying to go anywhere. If they called that a foul consistently, might as well just eliminate corner kicks and give the ball to the other team as a goal kick.

Am i the only who realised that none of the West Ham players even protested against the goal, and as far as im aware the ref didnt even give it, it was the linesman!

i've not got a problem with city's goal - the full back decided he was going to stand there and duck - Barry's got every right to go for that ball IMO[/QUOTE

He didn't duck until he felt the weight of Barry on his back. As for him 'deciding' to stand there, where should he have gone?
Didn't Barry come from behind him?

We've seen a lot of this lately and I'll make the point again. If Baines' touch on the Norwich player was a foul - and I think it
was, technically - why isn't jumping on a defenders back/neck to reach for a header a foul?

That's the key in this. It wasn't obstruction as he wasn't moving towards the ball.

Correct mate. Trust me, this is a by-product of what happened last week with Fellaini. That gawpee lino was thinking about that when he raised his flag.

It's funny how refs and linesmens always look so soft. Why can't any of them be karate experts and look a bit harder ffs.

It was a blatant foul as far as i'm concerned. Shorey didn't stand there and duck, his head went down because Barry pushed it down as he was climbing on him.

I think Victor quite clearly had his arm across the chest of Jaskaleninin so by the rules of the game you want the refs to enforce it was a foul.

Sucks when it gets given against us when others aren't given in our favour of course but thats why it was rightfully if not harshly disallowed.
In that case it should have been a penalty to us as their defender had his arms all over Jagielka!!!

Jaaskelainen isn't trying to come for that cross, he's shaping to get in position. He'd be a really, really terrible 'keeper if he did try and come for that ball.

He's still trying to move and being prevented by Anichebe obstructing him, and it was on the edge of his 6 yard box but thats not really the issue, regardless of where he was trying to go he was being fouled so couldn't do so.

That's not the rule. The 'keeper has to make a move towards the ball and the attacker has to block him off to be deemed impeding his progress. Simply moving side to side or taking one step forward for positional purposes isn't going for the ball.

The attacker is completely entitled to stand still in the box and Anichebe hasn't moved.
