Why doesn't Alan Curbishley get a look for these types of jobs? Or has he been out of it for too long now?

Many of the locals have been itching for months (nay years!) to get him sacked at Newcastle but Ashley has resisted it.

Be hilarious if he walks out on them now for Palace. It would be the ultimate two finger salute.

On paper it seems a smart move, borrowed time at Newcastle, threat of sack always around the corner, move back down South, etc.

The catch is, if things don't go too well right away at Palace then that is a chairman who will sack someone long before the supporters even start to get the itch!
