Out of the F.A Cup is a blessing in disguise

Maybe its age but for me I am still a believer in the Danny Blanchflower saying that football is about glory. The idea that being out of the Cup is a good thing to me is nonsense. Reaching the latter rounds is a great way to bring momentum and gives the fans something to look forward to.

The final is not what it was but it is still the biggest one off game of the year and it is still the best chance for a club without he megabucks to win real glory. I want Everton running out on the pitch for the Cup final and to hell with worrying about impact on league.

How about if you said winning our league games is hindering our chances of winning the FA cup...... sounds just as ridiculous then doesn`t it.

It's been of the most fraudulent arguments, this whole notion of "oh well, I'm pleased we're out of the cup, concentrate on the league."

Absolute grade A nuclear crap. I want us to get as far as we can every single year. It's as good a chance as we're going to get in the foreseeable future of winning any silverware. Come on you buggers, win the thing.

I 100% agree. What does getting 4th mean? It means a one off in the closed rich mans CL club. What does the Cup mean? Winning the oldest competition in the game. Winning something.

The CL is as I say a boring predictable closed shop for mega bucks franchises from Manchester, London, Barcelona, Madrid Munich and Milan. Unless or until we are taken over by a billion buck investor we will never compete in it to win it - neither will our neighbours by the way - so I do not give a continental rat's rump about the so called champions league.

Win the FA Cup or play a few games in a closed rich mans club? Give me the Cup and a great day out.

We've got more chance of winning the FA Cup than finishing 4th. I

d rather win that than finish 4th - in 25 years time my kid wont want to hear aout the year Everton finshed 4th then went out of the Champions League at the group stages. They want to know what we've won - ive waited long enough to see us win another trophy

Those saying the extra games will impact on us - what if we id finish 4th, the Champions league would mean playing mid week every other week. Dont get me wrong id love to see us play Barca or Real but id rather we won something first

this.

Success is measured in silverware. That means winning something.
Your club history is judged on how many trophies you've won, not how money your league position gets you.

3rd or 4th is all well and good, but my grandkids won't care about that.

Ive read this today from the Spurs and the rs fans, that the 4th place is more important. True cos it brings lots of money. But its now only an extra 4 games now to win it so it not like overkill and gives them the advantage plus it a great day out and that what football is about. Dont liverpool and spurs have Europe football to come.

Kopites are gobsh*tes is all that needs to be sad really.
