Out of contract in summer, who would you take?

I'm surprised to see Frimpong and Brunt on that list; presumably because their clubs think they have better options. Frimpong seemed to be a decent up-and-coming strong midfielder and Brunt a versatile midfielder who weighs in with a few assists.

If we ever finalise Martinez I could see him bringing Alcaraz as cheap cover in defence, especially as Heitinga seems to be talking his way out of the club. I'd be reasonably happy with Jags and Distin as first choice CBs, with Duffy and Alcaraz as cover.

I'm sure that Brunt signed an extension ages ago.

Just checked and you're right. I'm not allowed to include a link yet but he signed a three-year deal in 2011 so he shouldn't be on this list as a free agent...?

Only ones I'd seek are Frimpong and Brunt. Arshavin is probably past it but I just love the fella. Petric I'd happily take on a reasonable wage and one year deal as he's a proven goalscorer, and although I want us to buy one top quality striker I can't help but think we'd need even more depth beyond that.

If Gera/Benayoun were 5 years younger I'd snap them up, but the rest aren't really worth mentioning. We'll end up with one of Alcaraz/Stam/Figueroa though definitely if they're going on frees.

Figueroa isn't that bad to be honest. Can't he also play CB?

Yossi Benayoun is a class act IMO, vastly overated, got time off the bench last season competing with Moses Hazard Mata Oscar Marin and sometimes Ramires. On a free would offer something off the bench and in cup fixtures.

While Benayoun and Arshavin are both good players and could bring something, they'd both be on ridiculous wages for players who we'd be signing to strengthen the squad.

I wouldn't mind Benayoun, but Arshavin is a big "no" from me.

Fulham have bought Marteen Stekelenburg, so it means Mark Schwarzer is free to go. I doubt we could afford wages of him and Howard at the same time, but definitely would take him over Howard. Despite him being 40, still think he has like 2 good years in him.
