I get that. Has to wait for offers to come in. But it’s just foolish to let a striker go when you are short in that position just because no one wants to buy the midfielders.
I'd like to see Oumar stay as a reliable goal scoring impact sub but the manager wants to raise funds to invest elsewhere and Oumar is much more easily sellable that the surplus midfielders.
It's a gamble but Sam is clearly very confident Tosun will hit the ground running and stay fit. We just have to hope his judgement is right.

Won us 3 points against Bournemouth. Was pivotal in the comeback against Watford which was 3 points as well. Saved us vs palace, so another point. Haven’t even looked at any assists he has. But that’s 7 points. Without them, we would be 17th.
He deserves huge credit for that but he doesn't get it because his overall performance can be poor at times like when he started against Utd and Liv.
Other clubs recognise what he brings though that's why several lower placed ones are interested. No clubs are lining up for DCL at the mo because he provides so little goal threat which begs the question why he's got so much more playing time than Oumar.

Oumar's name will crop up when we do worst of..... lists on GOT in years to come. When we're league champs in 2029, we'll look back on these days and laugh.

Absolutely crazy decision making by the club as usual.

Both koeman and allardyce have written him off now despite the former getting a few weeks longer in the job because of niasse.

He might not be world class but he scores and scores out of nothing. The fact lewen has not matched his goals tally despite having more than 10 times the minutes on the pitch is telling.

I hope I'm wrong but letting a lad who scores and 'runs through brick walls' for the team could well prove to be a poor decision yet again by the transfer committee here especially if we don't sign better, or at all. I'd understand the summer and swapping him for Henry coming in but not now.

I believe there us more likely a time when the team has gone nowhere and the side look like a bunch of heartless mercenaries who don't give a damn that we look back and fondly remember a player who gave everything for the team despite being poorly treated.

I guess that's the issue though - if there's a firm offer on the table now and we recoup most of our money for a player who, lets face it, hasn't been fancied by the current or former manager, then it makes sense to accept. Now that Tosun has been signed Oumar will know he'll get next to no game time, with DCL seemingly next in the pecking order.

The offer from whichever club may not be there in July.
