Agree Prev, he was asked to play out wide, where the ball was hoofed up to him at every opportunity, and most of the time he had no chance of doing anything with it because it just sailed over his head and out of play.

That’s the crux of it really, its brilliant the way he’s applied himself but he’s needed that attitude to make it as the quality just isn’t there.

Long term it makes much more sense to try and get Sandro playing as his ceiling is much higher than Niasse’s.

Ironically it’s the type of long term thinking that many thought Allardyce wouldn’t bother with.

Scores and makes things happen and defends from the front, usually there the qualities I look for in a forward

Depends on the squad, but yeah, definitely today he might've been a better fit.

Boy did he misplay that one vs. one, though.
