2017/18 Oumar Niasse

DCL has to do that much running on his own up front that I've noticed in the last 20 minutes of games his work rate drops because he's that knackered (that's when Niasse should come on if Sam isn't going to start him in games) either he needs to pace himself a bit more, or he's being asked to do a thankless job, probably a bit of both in my opinion.

This.

The proper new striker will help things out too.

The prince and DCL provide competition.

I think Niasse is a much better striker currently than DCL, but DCl does one thing very well that Niasse does poorly, and thats win headers and touches on long balls. With a new proper striker and Niasse as a second striker I think he would do well, I mean he almost scored a goal in his short appearance on Tuesday, the only real attempt on goal we had.

They both have unbelievable work ethic but at the moment both lack quality.

true but I don't think DCL wins enough headers to justify starting him over Niasse.

The irony is he lost his newly found place in the starting XI by virtually single handedly earning us an unlikely looking point at Palace :(

Ironical, I agree, and we've played six matches he was available for since. How many goals has DCL scored in those?

He's one for the future, but we need an experienced CF right now. Niasse has shown us that he may able to hold down
that position, but we need to see more of him.

I agree. Winning headers is great, but also pointless if you have no one to win them too. Meanwhile, Niasse wont win nearly as many, but produced the one clear cut chance DCL couldnt. Honestly I think they are best suited together, but if its only one up top it depends on if theres going to be anyone to support.
