The fact we paid that much in fees and wages means he passes the Objective Criteria for players who don't automatically qualify for a work permit through international appearances. It's an absolutely bizarre system which is more than open to being gamed.

Personally think the club will write off the money lost and be happy to just give him away, even if it's to a Championship team for a very low fee. He himself will realise that there's no chance he's ever going to have a career here and, in order to stay in England with another club, he'll have to take a substantial pay cut so I don't foresee him digging his heels in like last summer.

Good luck to him wherever he ends up, he gave a decent account himself at Hull and proved he wasn't as utterly hopeless a footballer as everyone believed. Someone will want him.

We need to support our own. Oumar was treated poorly here and his treatment goes against everything this great club stands for. We can't let Adolf Koeman turn this club in to a dictatorship leaving us on its knees when departs for someone bigger. It's a disgrace that he did what he did and was allowed to get away with it.

I for one will welcome Oumar back with open arms. Lead us to glory son.

There's so many workarounds for the permit it's staggering. Niasse wouldn't have got a permit based on Senegal appearances - he'd have needed to have played in something like 70% of their competitive fixtures over the last two years. The percentage goes up or down based on the nation's FIFA Ranking. As a result there'd have been an appraisal to see if he can win a permit based on objective criteria.

If the transfer fee is in the upper echelon of the market for a pro player and the wages offered are also high then he'd get points in favour. I think the transfer fee (if high enough) can get 3 of the 4 required points straight away. There are also points given based on if he's coming from a top ranked league, European competition ranking of the selling club and maybe even player awards won. There's a whole raft of them and I cannot see how they ensure only players and coaches offering the aforementioned significant contribution to the development of football at the highest level in the UK are awarded work permits.

Would be sound if he came back to Finch Farm and blew Koeman away and scored 30-odd next year though.

There'll be plenty willing to take a punt on Oumar. Goals are a premium and most teams don't have goalscorers or can't afford or attract the established ones. People will be aware of his goals at Hull (plus the other opportunities he created) and his impact on the U-23's here....not a top class striker but certainly a rough diamond who may or may not work out. Take a pick from any of Burnley, Brighton, Sunderland, Middlesboro, Leeds, Newcastle, Reading/ Huddersfield, Watford......around £10M is affordable and a good deal for buyer and seller.
