Dortmund would love to have Kagawa back. Transfermarkt is rarely accurate for pricing players but they rate Hummels at £23m and Kagawa at £15m. Given that United spent £30m on Ferdinand, £16.5m on Jones and around £10m on Smalling it would still be a bargain and throwing Shinji in might tempt Klopp to part with the defender.

Before Christmas those chuckle heads will be screaming blue murder at Suarez and Rodgers as they slip off the CL pace.

They've peaked right now as far as I'm concerned. This is the very best it gets for them. And where will it have gotten them so far in this 'magnificent' start? They'll be 3rd by 6pm today, 2 points ahead of us and with Man City and United still to take their inevitable CL slots up in the coming weeks.

Quibbling over a few days.

They were knocked out of the CL spots over Christmas...something that you thought was unlikely....a word that best describes your view that I was massively overstretching stating my belief United would bounce back to get a CL spot. They have a way to go, but Rooney + v.Persie + Mata is a potentially lethal combo. Now no one will back against them snatching 4th. They are, after all, just 6 points off it.

Mata has at least got to be in that ball park, even if he hasn't played so much this season, based on past performances.
