also under Koeman we had no playing style, I sit in the main stand and tried to figure out what he was trying to do and I nor anybody around me could see any style of play, silva has a style of play which hopefully at this point next year will see a far better return. 18 months into Koemans tenure we went backwards, he threw money at average players. Silva has signed quality players who have took time to get into the side, we have also played everybody above us except spurs away

Silva is not the manager I wanted. I don’t get the fuss about him at all.

Having said that he just has to improve us and I’m happy.

If I’m honest, I’d have hoped for a little more so far this season but that is not me calling for his head or anything.

Has to be given more time by all of us.

I understand you Mate, you may have had better ideas for some one to take over, but would they come and could we have afforded them that is always the bottom line when looking at Manager and Players.

Some of which we are still stuck with or moved on at a loss.

Some people (altho poss RS on the wind up) have got very short memories. We were going games without a shot on target never mind scoring. Miles better off this term, obviously it is tinged with some frustration (as it is Everton afterall) due to red cards, dodgy set of fixtures and the occasional team brain fart (wham and spurs), but we are at last on the right track.

What pleases me most is that this team has finally given a damn good thrashing. Hopefully this boosts the confidence and we can go on a decent run. We need to come up with a new plan to tackle the top teams but at the moment I would be happy to beat the teams we are supposed to and try and end the season not too far off utd. I would hope that would be seen as progress by all.

A few things
1) first time yesterday we’ve played a bottom half team away from home and we are at Christmas. Can’t remember the fixtures for the first half last season.

2) we’ve had a number of poor decisions go against us

3) new manger and a number of new players, it’s always going to take time and you will always get spells of inconsistency.

We also have a transfer window in a few days which will provide us with the opportunity to bin some more of last seasons bottlers/mercenaries and bring in a couple more fresh faces. Judging by the calibre of the summer signings January is going to be an exciting month, cant wait.

I can’t understand how anyone expected miracles.

I very good job done so far. Just had a look at the fixtures and agree some interesting trips coming up with the team 6 months further along and looking better each (most) week(s).

There isn’t much versatility in the squad right now and I get the impression we won’t do much this window.

Them restricted parameters are in place due to Walsh in my eyes - who brazenly added turgid players on high earnings continually to the point the restrictions are still impacting us.

For a transition year. I feel it’s going well - we have had some highs and some lows, I don’t think we will see consistency until we address squad quality.

Marco is hindered presently by not having good options on the bench - in time this will change with the addition of further quality signings, but Brands has got his work cut out tying to sell some of the players who contribute nothing - Next summer will see many leave due to natural wastage and I believe we will invest further in similar quality to last seasons additions.

Nobody needs to panic.

As most sensible people have said. We’re actually extremely good on the road, but you get a clouded look on it due to our run of games we’ve recently faced.

We just need to find a way of being solid and consistent at home.

We’re a long way off where Tottenham, Chelsea are... but look whats changed in 6 months. Richarlison, Digne, Mina, Gomes and Bernard all in, all huge upgrades.

Out go Schneiderlin, Tosun, Niasse etc... were getting there, just need a bit of patience. We’re a work in progress, but let’s savour every away game now, as we’re boss away.
We have only won 2 away games I'd hardly call that extremely good but there has definitely been good periods of performances away from home.

As I've always thought, Everton are better as a counter attacking team

In theory, we should have beaten Bournemouth and Wolves, let's be honest.

Since then... we've faced Liverpool, United, City, Arsenal and Chelsea away from home. Outside of the bigger sides we've faced away from home we've W2 D2 L0 and you'd argue that should be W4 D0.

We play well away, it's the home form we need to sort out.

Understand your point, but expect to see a huge upturn in Away points from now til the end of the season.

After 19 games in 17/18 season we had 26 points.

After 19 games in 18/19 season we have 27 points having spent 130m since then and having signed 60m of talent on loan.
If Funboy 3have taught us anythi

Have Funboy 3 taught you nothing?
'It aint what you do its the way that you do it'

If you look at our fixture list, we have got a really good opportunity to go on a bit of a run now and accumualte some points. There's no such thing as an easy game especially when Everton are concerned and we could easy Everton it up of course but we dont play any of the Sky 6 till 23rd February (Man City at home) and there are 21 points up for grabs prior to that. Bit of a decent run and we could find ourselves in a quite nice position in the league. Hopefully December was our low point and dip in form and a decent run is on its way lads. The Burnley performance and result came exactly at the right time.

Brighton - Away
Leicester - Home
Bournemouth - Home
Southampton - Away
Huddersfield - Away
Wolves - Home
Watford - Away

Man City - Home - 23rd February

FFS! Please don't start a 'how many points' thread.

Last season dross v this season like night v day.
With the exception on spurs and city we have held our own with top 6 sides and deserved more as a result.
The derby result dented our confidence/belief badly and has done for a number of games. I liken it to a boxer being dealt a knockout blow and he is trying to survive the bell.
The so called big teams on the whole still have to visit the old lady I have confidence we can do them all some damage.
Playing style and quality of player much better after 4 months of Marco .... I am optimistic for our future
Good statement and that knockout blow was a complete fluke after giving them their toughest home game this season.

Imagine a round robin tournament. The three teams are Koeman's Everton, Allardyce's Everton and Silva's Everton. Who wins more, puts most emphasis on 3 points, scores most and is the most enjoyable to watch?

I'd say Silva's Everton.

The negatives? Who's got the worst defence, loses most, tries to not lose rather than trying to win, plays horrendous negative football and scores the least?

I'd say Koeman, Koeman, Allardyce, Allardyce and Allardyce.
