After 19 games in 17/18 season we had 26 points.

After 19 games in 18/19 season we have 27 points having spent 130m since then and having signed 60m of talent on loan.
A few things
1) first time yesterday we’ve played a bottom half team away from home and we are at Christmas. Can’t remember the fixtures for the first half last season.

2) we’ve had a number of poor decisions go against us

3) new manger and a number of new players, it’s always going to take time and you will always get spells of inconsistency.

West Ham is of course the most standout in terms of different result.

Don't forget to point out what was spent during 17/18 and how well those signings have contributed to this seasons points total. And also mention the difference in performance levels.

Or just carry on being a bit Richard Keys.

If you look at our fixture list, we have got a really good opportunity to go on a bit of a run now and accumualte some points. There's no such thing as an easy game especially when Everton are concerned and we could easy Everton it up of course but we dont play any of the Sky 6 till 23rd February (Man City at home) and there are 21 points up for grabs prior to that. Bit of a decent run and we could find ourselves in a quite nice position in the league. Hopefully December was our low point and dip in form and a decent run is on its way lads. The Burnley performance and result came exactly at the right time.

Brighton - Away
Leicester - Home
Bournemouth - Home
Southampton - Away
Huddersfield - Away
Wolves - Home
Watford - Away
Man City - Home - 23rd February

I think we can get 60 points this season as our opening half fixtures were tougher than the 2nd half. Also our new players are in the main available and they have settled. Add a striker who can score between 10-15 goals between now and the end of the season and maybe we can get more points. If we finish 7th and close to 6th its definite progress. FA cup needs to be treat with respect rest a few by all means but needs to be a reasonable strength team. Get a good draw and semi final should be minimum target. Disappointed with some of the soft points dropped but that was always going to be the case when transitioning styles. I'm more optimistic than I was after 13/14 this is a young side if we can get amongst it in the next 2 years we might yet win a title I can remember!

Silva is not the manager I wanted. I don’t get the fuss about him at all.

Having said that he just has to improve us and I’m happy.

If I’m honest, I’d have hoped for a little more so far this season but that is not me calling for his head or anything.

Has to be given more time by all of us.

It may be only a couple of points but thats looking at it in basic terms. For me personally the style of play is a lot more gratifying, as others have alluded to, it's not mind numbingly boring. T

he players we have are of a better standard. Silva at the start of his tenure not only had to try to implicate his style of play but embed 6 new signings and more importantly he had to pick the rest of the squad up off the floor from last year.

Pre-season was god damn awful and that was the hangover from last season, I didn't think he'd have them up to speed as quick as he has in all honesty. I think a lot of people forget that. The majority of this squad has been absolutely destroyed on a confidence level so he has to turn that around as well.

So yes we are slightly better off on paper but a million miles away from the end of last season. Context needs to be applied to these type of stats.
