The British girl done well to win a silver in the weightlifting.

The whole situation with the two Namibian athletes is confusing: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-57748135.amp

They both qualified for the 200m final today. Not allowed to compete in the 400m though?
There is a lot of questions and things to be sorted in order to protect elite level womens sport.

I can see how high testosterone levels can give an advantage but so can height in volleyball and netball. Natural genetic variation gives some people an initial athletic advantage.

At the same games where born women have been banned from competing, a trans woman who went through puberty as a man, competed to a high level as a man has been cleared to compete as a woman. This in a sport where strength is a significant attribute. Many prominent female athletes have then been shut down as transphobic for voicing concerns.

You see that dane crying over the shuttleock tennis? What a jessy. The vikings would be spinning in their graves if they hadn't set fire to their dead on boats.
It's somehow acceptable for men to cry over sport failure.

Not in my world.

Extremely complicated subject and I have no idea how it should be approached but it seems odd that these women are ok to do 200m but can't do 400m. The two events are very closely linked with various athletes competing in both in the past.

we win a shootout woop
I may well be wrong because I cba to check, but it does feel as if the GB women's hockey team never loses in penalty shoot-outs.

Maddie Hinch is genuinely the absolute best in the world and clearly intimidates opponents - the Spanish penalty takers all looked defeated before they even stepped up.

As predicted the media outrage over Hubbard was all a waste of time, she didn't make a single lift and yet all the conservative big brains were telling us how she was going to annihilate all the women.

Nope. What people said was that she only had a chance at all because she was male.

She's a terrible weightlifter, oldest of the lot, coming off serious injuries. She was considered, at most, an outside bet for a medal, but likely to be around the top ten. The result here isn't a surprise, nor does it mean anything - but, as we all knew, the fact she 'failed' is being used as 'evidence' trans athletes have no advantage, despite the fact she was just - clearly - terrible.

This was said repeatedly by many people many months ago.

Hubbard, in all likelihood, won't win. She won't win because being a male isn't an advantage; but rather because she's a pretty terrible weightlifter. The only, and I mean only reason she's competing at the Olympics at that level is because she's male. We all know this, everyone knows this, even Hubbard herself, but unfortunately nobody has been brave enough to put a stop to the nonsense.

No doubt some idiot will say "well if it wasn't fair she'd win easily!" - no. It just means she's absolutely terrible at weightlifting and is only competing to any degree because of her innate advantage as a male.

There were quite clearly hundreds probably thousands on social media saying they would laugh when she smashes all her competitors despite it being pointed out to them that she wasn't very good..

Well yeah but they weren't informed of the actual circumstances and being flippant. Twitter isn't exactly the greatest place for nuanced debate or understanding of issues.
