Dixie Dean & Tommy Lawton who he knew was his replacement yet always gave him advice & they both respected one & other they never played upfront much together though - the club left Dixie on 449 appearances then sold him -

Bally never hit the heights playing there as they were a long ball team plus he had a lot of resentment from his co players as the perks & wages he was on back then - Southampton got the best out of him IMO - like Bobby Collins should never have been sold -

Geoff Barnett was a solid keeper for them too in that photo - replaced Bob Wilson who coached him up .....
He was a very good keeper sadly behind West , Rankin - West was a top international keeper as was Rankin on his day but always had an error in him - I watched Barnett in that youth cup run in in the home games - what a great youth team that was - I sadly missed the Final as the semi final the Liverpool Corporation buses went on a lightning bus strike - My older brother got me home late - & strict parents stated thatch it your not taking him to a night game until I got older - as I was late for school the day after ... doh….Barnett only played 49 times for Arsenal. He covered when Wilson was injured (inc the FA Cup final) but never replaced him.
