The replay at Goodison - we fared worse than away - I can remember we were not the better side that day & lucky to hang on to a 0-0 - My late father went to the 3rd tie replay at Molyneux Wolves - midweek & Pickering & Temple scored the goals to send us through to the semi finals - City of then a division lower gave us a big scare - most ties were 3-0 on our way to Wembley in 1966 -

My late father also went to the semi final at Burden Park Bolton - when we beat United 1-0 - my uncle who is still with us at the age of 94 sadly now in a nursing home he only came home with one shoe on - as it was manic behind our goal or they were both rotten drunk after that game ....

My late father had a brother in London got him a ticket , but he was on shift work & my 16 year old brother by train went to the London family to go to the Final - he was in with all the Sheffield Wednesday fans with his Uncle & his two nephews - they were scattered all over Wembley an amazing day for him & me even watching it on the TV at home with my mum my dad came in from his shift at 3 -15 - pm ..... we were 1-0 down ...

Its ok we will still win he stated .....
I was at Burnden Park for the semi also, in the Everton end - the opposite end to where Harvey scored. That is the worst ground I have ever been to. The difference in the steps on the terraces was so small that they almost seemed level. Not easy for a small 15 year-old to see the game. At the end of the game the news filtered through that Sheff Wed had beaten Chelsea, so the media 'glamour' final of Man Utd/Chelsea was scuttled...
