The Gwladys street in full flow -
-I was there, aged 15. Bus(74D) from school straight into the city in my school uniform with my satchel. Special from Lime Street. Great game and great win. Then back to the station and train back to Lime Street. Because the football specials got low priority, got back home about 2-3 in the morning. My mum paid the taxi fare back home. I really was mad, even at that young age!Brian Labone, Everton 0-0 Man City a 1966 FA Cup 6th round - took another leg at Molyneux to beat them 2-0 -

Pickering was one of the greatest attackers/centre forwards I have seen. Got injured a few weeks before the final, and I believe Catterick did not want to take a chance on him in the final, in the days before a substitute was introduced into the game.My late father went & stated with Fred Pickering our name is in the FA Cup.....poor Fred....missed the last two ties a prolific scorer in the other rounds ...
Some of the photos I took from the Bullens Road:

The game at Maine Road was 0-0. I highlighted this: 'took another leg at Molyneux to beat them 2-0'. That was the game I was referring to. Apologies for any confusion...….me too, on the front row of the Maine Road stand behind the goal. Can’t remember how we got there, I’d have been 9yo, seem to recall both my parents went.
The replay at Goodison - we fared worse than away - I can remember we were not the better side that day & lucky to hang on to a 0-0 - My late father went to the 3rd tie replay at Molyneux Wolves - midweek & Pickering & Temple scored the goals to send us through to the semi finals - City of then a division lower gave us a big scare - most ties were 3-0 on our way to Wembley in 1966 -….me too, on the front row of the Maine Road stand behind the goal. Can’t remember how we got there, I’d have been 9yo, seem to recall both my parents went.
