I recall Sharpy scored a stunning volley in one of them replays at Goodison. Park end, he nearly burst the net.
Agreed. I've always seen the replacement stand as an ugly aberration. Can't believe Moores let it progress when it had become obvious that the original cantilever stand couldn't be done. GP must be the only Directors Box in the country with obstructed views! Unbelievable too in the 50 years since its construction the opportunity was never taken to reconstruct the roofing at least, using modern, lighter building materials that would have allowed the central two roof supports to be removed. It was particularly embarassing at the time when, a couple of years later, Chelsea completed their triple decker Main Stand - complete with unobstructed views.
Think it's Old Trafford, they raised the pitch level for some obscure reason, something to do with the hoardings around the pitch.Wonder what ground that is? Can't be Goodison, because we never had steps up to the pitch, or dug outs like that. Is it the 66 semi at Burnden Park?
