Bally with England's Captain Bobby Moore -
You couldnt blame Moores for tightening the purse strings. Catterick, after signing Kendall in 1967, signed nobody who you could call a "success".We were in for Trevor Francis well before the Latch under Catterick .... Everton that..... what an addition he would have been for us - The Catt would not meet the asking price..... which was well under 1 million Clough paid for him .....
Harry had lost the plot, most of Bally funds were wasted Bernie Wright etc ....You couldnt blame Moores for tightening the purse strings. Catterick, after signing Kendall in 1967, signed nobody who you could call a "success".

Connolly, probably the only one to come out with any credit.
Trevor Francis was the first £1m footballer, when signing for Forest 78-79. Everton had shown interest in the early 70s, when he was around 21. He probably would have cost us £250,000. Him and Latchford would have torn up the league. I dont think we saw the best of Latch until Dave Thomas was signed. You couldnt blame Moores for tightening the purse strings. Catterick, after signing Kendall in 1967, signed nobody who you could call a "success".
