Good stuff. My memory of Clyde Best with West Ham was that he seemed be highly admired even by the notorious WHU fanbase. Mind you, I was very young, and used to think his name was pronounced Slidee Best lol

To me he seemed exotic having seen the Brazil team 1970 on the telly - thought that all the great players must be Brazilian and dark skinned!!

He seems to be still a loyal Hammer supporter

Peter Farrell Front row 2nd from right, and Peter Corr front row far left both played. Some row between Tommy Eglinton and the management meant he was left out - no subs back then. Peter Farrell enjoyed telling me how he cleaned up on bets with his other Everton teammates as he won all round him on Ireland winning and him scoring. :)
