This was a bad night if I remember.
Played on a Friday night cos of the Grand National the next day.
1-1 was a crap result, we then knew we had blew our chances of the league title.
We were odds-on to win the title and ended up fishing fourth ! FFS !!!

In his match report Charles Lambert states " Jones played a major part in it. Receiving the ball from Bernard in the 66th minute he made ground and spotted Latchford at the far side of the Derby penalty area. Latchford went up to the cross unchallenged and his header brushed off the inside of the far post into the net". During lock down last year I subscribed to an on line old newspaper research site and downloaded a large number of match reports to keep me occupied and help me identify more of my photos.

Remember this well, almost like a championship decider. Latch header across face of the goal, inside of the post and into the net.
Massive result, but Derby went on to win the league.
