Really though, Whittle was a fine player who, for me, never quite fulfilled his potential, despite his heroics in 69/70.

That was a thrilling game, despite the blank scoresheet. The point we took off Arsenal virtually ended their chance of the title, allowing you know who to steal it. That was Westy's last home game for us - he was in the team because Lawson was injured.

Don't think Dario man-marked Bally in that game, but he did do in the previous two meetings at Highbury when it goes without saying he had him in his pocket.
