Fantastic to have a great grandfather who wore the Blue shirt - Captain later on too you should be proud!;)

Thanks mate, his youngest son, my Grandfather was the staunchest blue I ever met and it was his love for Everton, all his memorabilia, all the tales of Dixie, Lawton, Sagar, Young, Vernon etc he used to tell me either sat in his chair or more often than not in his greenhouse tending his tomatoes that gave me the life long passion I have.

Sure there are many others on this site with similar stories....

Not Really Born a Blue because of my late fathers family, I can remember a a small kid having a chat with a great Uncle who was a lifelong season ticket holder all his life it was like something out the Golden vision scene telling me about Sandy Young comparing him with Alex, and the great Dixie Dean seeing his hat trick for his 60th goal v Arsenal, things like that stay in your mind;)

Are you ever going to get your memorabilia out of the attic?:)

.....if I remember rightly he had an incredible record of scoring on debut for the team he represented and in the various competitions he played in.
I remember him as the one that got away he was very fast, great striker, but unfoturtunately hit the Woodwork too many times his goal tally would have been higher he would have never been sold, and ended up at the red lot banging them in for fun!
