The FA Cup rules stated away colours to be worn by both clubs unless a mutual agreement can be made. This was in force until 1989-90, so I can only assume Colchester United would not agree to Everton playing in blue.

Odd if that was the only occasion, I am struggling to think of any other games at Goodison when it happened.

It was definitely not a frequent occurrence.

Kendal scores the first two, Bally scores the 5th. Played in my favourite Everton kit ever.

Your right posting picture stated it was a Leeds game - TBH I should have known as I was there with my mates as the other lot played at home in the FA cup at 3pm too - and our school hired a mini bus 50/50 to go and see both games - were in the park end as it was nearest to the mini bus, parked on anfield it was a rout that day why we were in our away kit never occurred to me at the time - just enjoyed the rout we gave them we were on fire that day!
